Frequently Asked Questions

These are some of my most frequently asked questions. Don't see what you're looking for? Send me a message! I would love to chat with you about your unique needs.

What if I don't want to be in the pictures?

Family centered photography is a huge part of my style, so if you would prefer photos of just your newborn, we might not be a great match. I would be happy to recommend some other incredible photographers in the area.

However, parents will not be in every photo. I also get plenty of photos of just baby that you will love!

What if my baby is fussy?

Almost all babies are fussy or cry for at least a portion of our session. That is okay! I know how to work with a fussy baby. We usually start by trying to make sure babies needs are met, letting baby have time to eat or doing a diaper change, and sometimes just rocking them and holding them until they can fall asleep or settle down. We also might be giving baby a pacifier in between photos to help them to be soothed, and we will focus on family photos so that baby can be comforted by their parents.

How do I book?

Message me on any of my social media platforms, call me, text me, or send a message directly from this website.

What does a studio session look like?

For the studio sessions, mini or regular, the session takes place when baby is 3-21 days old, so for those sessions you just reach out sometime after baby is born, usually when you have gotten home and settled. You tell me what day they arrived and I send you the available days and times that are available within that 3-21 day old range and then we meet at the studio and take some beautiful photos of baby and family photos too!

Where are you located?

I live in Logan, UT, and the studio I use is on Logan's Center Street. I do travel up to 25 miles away for in home sessions with no additional fees! This includes Preston, Tremonton, and Brigham City. If you live outside the 25 mile radius I will charge 50 cents every additional mile after the 25 miles. If you would like a studio session anywhere other than Logan Center Street Studio, you will have to pay the studio fee.

What does a hospital session look like?

The hospital mini session takes place after baby is born, usually the next day because you normally stay overnight at least one night after birth. So you message me when you’re going into labor and/or when baby arrives so I can plan a time with you to come in and do photos!

When baby does arrive, you just give me the hospital entry code, and make sure you check with your hospital that photographers are allowed and that you won’t be exceeding the guest limit. I come in for about an hour and take a few of the family, and some with each parent and baby, and then a whole bunch of little detail shots of baby wrapped or unwrapped or a little bit of both depending on preference!

What if I am late to my studio session?

Because I do not own this studio, our time is exactly one - two hours from our scheduled meeting time, depending on if you booked a mini or a regular studio session. I cannot extend your session time if you are late. Please plan to arrive 10-15 min early to ensure the full amount of shooting time. Of course, please don't stress if you are running a little late, most people do, and I do know how to work quickly to get beautiful images no matter how much time we have.

Do I have to use your wraps?

Nope, I have all the wraps we need in lots of different colors, you are welcome use them. However, if you have something different you want to use we can use that too! My wraps are specific for baby photography so I already know they wrap well and photograph well, but we can use something you bring and love as well as any sentimental items you want to include.

When should I book?

My schedule is very limited, so book within 4-6 months of your due date to ensure a spot in my schedule. Late booking? No worries, reach out anyway just in case my schedule opens up! Newborn photos are best taken within the first 3-21 days, however I do accept newborns of up to 4 weeks. If they are older than 4 weeks, PLEASE STILL BOOK! My posing will be different, with lots of pictures playing with or cuddling mom and dad rather than having more individual and posed newborn photos. Families that book photos for their one - six month old still love the photos :)

Can I choose the location we take pictures at?

Of course! And if you don't have any place in particular you like, I have lots of location ideas I would love to share with you! If you want a studio session at a different studio than Center Street Studio, you will need to pay the studio rental fee.

Why do you only give 15 total retouched images?

My goal is affordability for everyone, and the more time I spend editing the more I have to charge you. Retouching consumes most of my time.

However, I know that you don't want to print and post every single photo that I take. (considering I like to deliver ALL the best ones - that's a lot by the way) That is why I let you pick the ones you want retouched. Usually not all photos in the album need to be retouched anyway.

If you would like additional photos retouched after you pick your 10 favorites, no problem! Just let me know and for an additional $10 I will retouch 5 photos, $20 for 10, etc.

Do you provide the wraps for baby?

Yes! I have a wide variety of wraps available for you to use. When you finalize your booking with me, I will send you a pre-session questionnaire where you will be able to tell me a few colors you want to include and I will bring wraps in those colors.
