What to Expect

In the Studio:

I'll meet you at the studio and show you the props and wraps I've brought. If you don't have a preference, I'll suggest some colors. Then, we'll focus on family pictures, including shots with each parent and any siblings. Next, we'll capture photos of just the baby, wrapped or unwrapped if you've booked a regular session and baby is sleepy. If baby needs time to settle, we'll help them relax. Don't worry if baby stays awake—we'll still get great photos!

In your Home:

For in-home sessions, we'll follow a similar plan, but at your place. We'll find a well-lit area near a window or sliding door, and get started after opening blinds and curtains.

What to Wear

Wear something that feels comfortable and reflects your style and personality. For Moms, flowy dresses or shirts flatter all body types, but feel free to choose whatever makes you feel confident. For Dads, button-up shirts or plain tees work well—avoid graphic tees or logos. Stick to small patterns or solid colors for timeless appeal in your photos.

If you're unsure, look online for color palettes that complement each other, or stick to neutrals. You can also reach out to me if you have questions or want suggestions! I'll provide wraps and some outfits for the baby.

What to Bring

I want your photo session to feel personal and showcase your unique family. Bring along any special items like family heirlooms, baby outfits, ultrasound pictures, or toys you cherish, and we'll include them in your photos. If you prefer not to bring anything, don't worry—I have plenty of wraps and props available that I will bring.

Please remember to bring an extra bottle with formula and/or breastmilk, as babies may get hungry during the session. Also, pack plenty of diapers and wipes. Accidents happen, but rest assured, I clean my props after each use!

How to Prepare

In order to get those adorable newborn poses, it is best if you feed baby about 20-30 min before the session or right when you get into the studio if you live farther away. We always have time to feed baby whether it's before, a break in the middle, or both. We like baby to be sleepy, so if you can keep them awake 1-2 hours before the session, that would be ideal. You can play with them, wiggle their feet and hands and talk to them. It also helps if you plan the session during a time baby would usually be napping anyway.

Let Go of Worries

Finally, don't worry. I have been doing this for a while now and I am known for my patience. You are beautiful, and incredible, and I want you to look in the mirror and say it out loud! You are photogenic. You will love your pictures. Just get ready to relax and snuggle your little one.
